Follow these steps to connect GitHub to your CData Connect Cloud account:

Open the Connections page of the CData Connect Cloud dashboard.

Click + Add Connection in the upper-right corner.

Type GitHub into the search field, then click the data source name.

On the Basic Settings tab of the new connection, enter a connection name or keep the default name.

Optionally, enter the following information:

Repository Name—Set this to the name of the repository you want to query. You can override it when using RepositoryName as a criteria in a query.

User Login—Set this to the name of the user whose repository you want to query. You can override it when using UserLogin as a criteria in a query. If User Login is not explicitly specified, the provider uses the currently authenticated user.

Click Sign in to connect securely through OAuth. This action opens the GitHub sign-in page in a new tab.

Log into your GitHub account and provide the requested permissions (if applicable).

At the top of the CData Connect Cloud Add GitHub Connection page, click Save & Test.

If the connection test succeeds, a message indicates that your connection has been created.

If the connection test fails, ensure that you entered your login information correctly with no stray spaces or other characters. Then, try again.
