Follow these steps to connect GitHub to your CData Connect Cloud account:

  1. Open the Connections page of the CData Connect Cloud dashboard.

  2. Click + Add Connection in the upper-right corner.

  3. Type GitHub into the search field, then click the data source name.

  4. On the Basic Settings tab of the new connection, enter a connection name or keep the default name.

  5. Optionally, enter the following information:

    • Repository Name—Set this to the name of the repository you want to query. You can override it when using RepositoryName as a criteria in a query.

    • User Login—Set this to the name of the user whose repository you want to query. You can override it when using UserLogin as a criteria in a query. If User Login is not explicitly specified, the provider uses the currently authenticated user.

  6. Click Sign in to connect securely through OAuth. This action opens the GitHub sign-in page in a new tab.

  7. Log into your GitHub account and provide the requested permissions (if applicable).

  8. At the top of the CData Connect Cloud Add GitHub Connection page, click Save & Test.

    • If the connection test succeeds, a message indicates that your connection has been created.

    • If the connection test fails, ensure that you entered your login information correctly with no stray spaces or other characters. Then, try again.
