SAP Business Objects BI


Setup Guide

Follow these steps to connect SAP Business Objects BI to your CData Connect Cloud account:

  1. Open the Connections page of the CData Connect Cloud dashboard.

  2. Click + Add Connection in the upper-right corner.

  3. Type SAP Business Objects BI into the search field, then click the data source name.

  4. On the Basic Settings tab of the new connection, enter a connection name or keep the default name.

  5. Under Authentication, enter the URL of the REST API exposed by the SAP Business Objects BI. You can find the correct URL in the Central Management Console of SAP Business Objects BI. Select Applications, and then double-click RESTful Web Service to view the access URL. By default, it is http://{SERVER-NAME}:6405/biprws.

  6. Select an AuthScheme and follow the relevant instructions below.

Authentication Methods

Basic

  1. Enter the following information:

    • User—the SAP Business Objects BI username for authentication.

    • Password—the user password.

  2. At the top of the CData Connect Cloud Add SAP Business Objects BI Connection page, click Save & Test.

    • If the connection test succeeds, a message indicates that your connection has been created. The Status on the Edit Connection page also changes to Authenticated.

    • If the connection test fails, ensure that you entered your login information correctly with no stray spaces or other characters. CData Connect Cloud displays error messages under the required fields with missing data. Some data sources require that you sign in directly to the source website. If you did not, an error message appears under the Sign in button. Correct the errors and try again.

    • Unsuccessful connections are saved as drafts and have a Status of Not Authenticated. You can return to the connection and authenticate it later.

CyberArk

  1. Enter the following information:

    • User—the SAP Business Objects BI username for authentication.

    • Password—the user password.

    • SSO Login URL—Enter the SSO provider’s login URL.

    • SSO Properties—Enter any additional property-value pairs required to connect to the SSO provider, separated by semicolons.

    • SSO Exchange Url—Enter the URL used for consuming the SAML response and exchanging it for service-specific credentials.

  2. At the top of the CData Connect Cloud Add SAP Business Objects BI Connection page, click Save & Test.

    • If the connection test succeeds, a message indicates that your connection has been created. The Status on the Edit Connection page also changes to Authenticated.

    • If the connection test fails, ensure that you entered your login information correctly with no stray spaces or other characters.
