Setup Guide

Follow these steps to connect Google Contacts to your CData Connect Cloud account:

  1. Open the Connections page of the CData Connect Cloud dashboard.

  2. Click + Add Connection in the upper-right corner.

  3. Type Google Contacts into the search field, then click the data source name.

  4. On the Basic Settings tab of the new connection, enter a connection name or keep the default name.

  5. Select an Auth Scheme and follow the instructions below.

Authentication Methods

OAuth

  1. Click Sign in with Google to connect securely through OAuth. This action opens the Google Contacts sign-in page on a new tab.

  2. Log in to your Google Contacts account.

  3. Select the checkboxes next to each permission category and click Continue to grant the requested permissions. Note that each permission is required for the connection to function.

OAuthJWT

  1. Enter the following information.

    • OAuth JWT Cert—Enter the content of the JSON certificate provided by Google.

    • (Optional) OAuth JWT Subject—Only set this value if the service account is part of a GSuite domain and you want to enable delegation. The value of this property should be the email address of the user whose data you want to access.

  2. At the top of the CData Connect Cloud Add Google Contacts Connection page, click Save & Test.

    • If the connection test succeeds, a message indicates that your connection has been created. The Status on the Edit Connection page also changes to Authenticated.

    • If the connection test fails, ensure that you entered your login information correctly with no stray spaces or other characters. CData Connect Cloud displays error messages under the required fields with missing data. Some data sources require that you sign in directly to the source website. If you did not, an error message appears under the Sign in button. Correct the errors and try again.
